About the Kelvin Knot

The Kelvin Knot is similar to the Four-In-Hand but begins with the seam facing out and results in a slightly fuller knot. It’s named after the celebrated mathematical physicist and engineer William Thomson (Lord Kelvin).

Interesting fact and completely unrelated to necktie knots... Lord Kelvin is buried close to the graves of Isaac Newton, John Herschel, and Charles Darwin in Westminster Abbey.
